  1. Find the shore power cord

    • Locate the 30-amp shore power cord.

    • It is usually coiled and stored in the dinette area.

  2. Check the plug type

    • The 30-amp plug looks slightly different from a standard household plug.

  3. Choose the correct outlet

    • If you have a 30-amp outlet: plug the cord directly into it.

    • If you only have a regular home outlet:

      • Find the 30-amp to 15-amp adapter in the top kitchen drawer.

      • Attach the adapter so the cord can plug into a normal household outlet.

  4. Open the shore power inlet

    • Open the lid on the outside power inlet of the RV/trailer.

  5. Insert the power cord

    • Line up the plug so the green indicator light is slightly to the left.

    • Push the plug straight into the inlet until it is fully seated.

  6. Lock the plug in place

    • Turn the cord slightly to the right to lock it.

  7. Secure the collar (depending on your cord type)

    • Grooved collar:

      • Feel for the grooves.

      • Slide the collar into position and twist slightly to tighten.

    • Threaded collar:

      • Screw the collar onto the threaded inlet until it is snug.

  8. Disconnect when finished

    • Loosen the collar (or unthread it).

    • Turn the cord slightly to the left.

    • Pull the plug out.

  9. Finish up

    • Close the inlet lid.

    • Store the power cord safely back in its storage area.
