-
Find the shore power cord
-
Locate the 30-amp shore power cord.
-
It is usually coiled and stored in the dinette area.
-
-
Check the plug type
-
The 30-amp plug looks slightly different from a standard household plug.
-
-
Choose the correct outlet
-
If you have a 30-amp outlet: plug the cord directly into it.
-
If you only have a regular home outlet:
-
Find the 30-amp to 15-amp adapter in the top kitchen drawer.
-
Attach the adapter so the cord can plug into a normal household outlet.
-
-
-
Open the shore power inlet
-
Open the lid on the outside power inlet of the RV/trailer.
-
-
Insert the power cord
-
Line up the plug so the green indicator light is slightly to the left.
-
Push the plug straight into the inlet until it is fully seated.
-
-
Lock the plug in place
-
Turn the cord slightly to the right to lock it.
-
-
Secure the collar (depending on your cord type)
-
Grooved collar:
-
Feel for the grooves.
-
Slide the collar into position and twist slightly to tighten.
-
-
Threaded collar:
-
Screw the collar onto the threaded inlet until it is snug.
-
-
-
Disconnect when finished
-
Loosen the collar (or unthread it).
-
Turn the cord slightly to the left.
-
Pull the plug out.
-
-
Finish up
-
Close the inlet lid.
-
Store the power cord safely back in its storage area.
