Deploy (Open) the Awning

  1. Get the awning pole

    • Go inside the trailer.

    • Grab the awning pole (usually stored near the dinette).

    • This helps reach the awning if you’re not very tall.

  2. Unlock the awning arms (both sides)

    • Go to one side of the awning.

    • Push the small tab upward.

    • Flip the lock open.

    • Find the black thumbscrew underneath.

    • Turn the thumbscrew ¼ turn toward the front of the trailer.

      • Do not loosen it too much or the nut could fall out.

  3. Repeat on the other side

    • Push the tab up.

    • Flip the lock open.

    • Turn the thumbscrew ¼ turn.

  4. Release the awning roller

    • Take the awning pole and use the circle end.

    • At the front top corner of the trailer, locate the small control arm.

    • Push this arm toward the trailer until it clicks into the open position.

  5. Pull the awning out

    • Flip the pole so the hook end is facing up.

    • Hook the black strap on the awning.

    • Pull the strap straight down to unroll the awning.

    • Once the spring engages, you can re-grip the strap and keep pulling until the awning is fully extended.

  6. Lock the support arms

    • On each side, find the inner arm.

    • Push it upward until the silver tab locks into place.

    • Do this on both sides.

  7. Raise the awning

    • Locate the handle on the inside of the arm.

    • Lift the handle to release the pin.

    • Raise the awning at an angle (not straight up).

    • If alone, raise one side at a time, going back and forth until the height is even.

  8. Optional adjustments

    • For rain: lower one side slightly so water runs off.

    • For wind: tighten the black thumbscrew to brace the arm against the trailer.

Put the Awning Away

  1. Loosen the support arms

    • If you tightened the thumbscrews, turn them ¼ turn counterclockwise.

  2. Lower the awning

    • Lower one side at a time if you’re alone.

    • The arm will stop at a pre-positioned nut, which is the correct lowest position.

  3. Collapse the arms

    • Find the tab you used earlier.

    • Pull it toward yourself to release the arm.

    • Let the arm rest back down.

    • Repeat on the other side.

  4. Prepare to roll the awning in

    • Grab the black strap firmly.

  5. Close the awning roller

    • Push the small control arm to the closed position.

    • Hold the strap while the awning rolls back toward the trailer so it doesn’t snap shut.

  6. Secure the awning

    • Flip the thumb locks closed.

    • Tighten the thumbscrews.

  7. Do a quick safety check

    • Use the awning pole to gently pull on the awning.

    • Make sure it does not open and everything feels secure.

Important Tip: Never leave the awning open during strong wind or heavy rain, as it  can bend or damage the awning.
