-
Locate the Thermostat
-
Find the black thermostat in your dinette area, beneath the monitor panel and the controls for the water heater and water pump.
-
-
Turn On the Furnace
-
Look at the switch at the top of the thermostat.
-
Push the switch toward the overhead or the driver’s side of the trailer.
-
You should hear one click – this means the furnace is now on.
-
-
Set the Desired Temperature
-
Use the switch at the bottom of the thermostat to control how hot the trailer will get before the furnace turns off.
-
A good starting point is around the halfway mark.
-
The thermostat shows temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit, with a mercury gauge indicating the current temperature.
-
You may need to adjust your eye level slightly to see the mercury clearly.
-
-
Adjust the Furnace Grate (Optional)
-
Locate the grate on the furnace – this is where the heat comes out.
-
You can adjust the direction of the airflow: up, down, or to the sides, depending on where you want the heat to go in the trailer.
-
-
Turn Off the Furnace
-
If you’re done using the furnace:
-
You can either turn the bottom heat control all the way down or
-
Turn the top switch off to completely shut the unit down.
-
-
Note: The furnace may continue to run for 30 seconds to 1 minute after shutting it off to safely purge gases.
