1. Understand what the device does
-
The DC to DC controller boosts your vehicle’s alternator voltage.
-
This allows it to properly charge a lithium trailer battery to about 14.2–14.4 volts (full charge level for lithium batteries).
-
Without it, most vehicle alternators only output voltage suited for lead-acid batteries, which may not fully charge lithium batteries.
2. Connect the trailer to your vehicle
-
Plug the 7-pin connector from your trailer into your tow vehicle.
-
This connection is what powers and activates the DC to DC controller.
-
Once plugged in, the device becomes “live” and begins operating automatically.
3. Start driving to charge the battery
-
When your vehicle is running and the 7-pin is connected:
-
The controller automatically boosts voltage from the alternator.
-
Your trailer’s lithium battery begins charging efficiently while you drive.
-
-
No manual switching is required for charging operation.
4. (Optional) Connect to the app
-
If you want to check settings or monitor the system:
-
Make sure the 7-pin connector is plugged in and the device is powered on.
-
Then connect using the Viron Connect app.
-
-
The app will not work if the device is not powered through the 7-pin connection.
5. Find important device information
-
Look at the white sticker on the unit for:
-
Part number
-
Serial number
-
Bluetooth PIN (for app connection)
-
PUK code (used to reset Bluetooth if needed)
-
6. Reset Bluetooth (if needed)
-
Use the PUK code on the sticker if you need to reset Bluetooth pairing.
-
Follow the app or manufacturer instructions after entering the code.
