How do I use my fire extinguisher?

  1. Locate the fire extinguisher.

    • When you walk in the door, it is on the right side mounted on the wall.

  2. Remove the extinguisher from the bracket.

    • Find the small lock on the strap holding it in place.

    • Press the lock to release the strap/tie.

    • Lift the extinguisher off the bracket.

  3. Prepare the extinguisher.

    • Pull the safety pin out completely from the top.

  4. Use the extinguisher.

    • Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire (not the flames).

    • Squeeze the lever to release the extinguishing agent.

    • Continue until the fire is fully extinguished.

  5. After using the extinguisher.

    • Do NOT put it back on the bracket.

    • Replace it with a new fire extinguisher and mount the new one in the same location.

  6. If the extinguisher was removed but NOT used (for example, for cleaning or if it fell off):

    • Place it back onto the wall bracket.

    • Secure the strap/tie again so it stays in place.

Important: If the extinguisher was used or the pin was pulled, it must be replaced with a new one.
